Jeff Lebo had become accustomed to East Carolina recruits not having great nights when he attended their high school games.

“Usually when we sign guys and I go to see them afterwards, they play bad,” said Lebo, in his second season in charge of the Pirates’ men’s basketball team. “That’s usually the rule.”

ECU freshman guard Paris Roberts-Campbell broke that rule.
