Warren Harvey made a lasting impression on East Carolina head football coach Ruffin McNeill long before Harvey had ever kicked a field goal for the Pirates.
McNeill recalls afternoons during the summer when lightning had largely sidelined all football activity for the day. On the coach’s way out, however, there was his sophomore kicker on the practice fields alone with a giant bag of footballs, as though the weather was a mere annoyance.
As Harvey battled his way into the starting role as ECU’s field goal and kickoff man, McNeill put his kicker to the test, and the Greenville native again showed a determination to succeed.

Yeah he needed to because
he was a walk on. ECU didn't offer him a place or scholarship. Hilarious... I am laughing so hard falling off of my couch on this article. Lasting impression? Geez what a joke
