Coach Ben Braun and his international group of Rice Owls will pay a visit to Minges Coliseum at 5 o’clock today for a men’s basketball game against East Carolina.
Rice, which like ECU has won its last two games, has a roster that features players from Canada, Lebanon, Egypt, Germany and Iran. The Iranian — 6-foot-7 junior forward Arsalan Kazemi — missed a couple of games recently due to a knee injury, but he hasn’t missed a beat since coming back, scoring 20 points and grabbing nine rebounds in the Owls’ 77-75 win over Texas-El Paso on Wednesday.
While Kazemi is the centerpiece of Braun’s team and averages 13.4 points and 11.1 rebounds per game — both team highs — the Owls are more than a one-man show.
