RALEIGH — East Carolina wasn't the team with the comeback on Tuesday night.
Having returned home from a weekend series at UAB in which they'd gotten yet another late-inning victory, the Pirates found themselves on the wrong end of the rally at N.C. State's Doak Field, as the Wolfpack scored three times in the seventh inning to steal a 4-2 victory.
Trailing 2-1 for most of the night, N.C. State (18-12) loaded the bases in the seventh by way of three straight bunts. Pratt Maynard then steered a two-run single to right to give the Wolfpack a 3-2 lead, and Andrew Ciencin followed with an RBI sacrifice fly that gave the Pack instant insurance.
