It took the better part of eight grueling games for someone on the East Carolina football team’s offensive line to sustain the kind of injury that required more than just a few minutes on the sideline to heal.
In one of the team’s more pleasant surprises this season, however, two casualties up front against UAB last week not only didn’t cost the Pirates a victory, but instead proved to be a rallying cry when both replacements took the field and excelled.
At center, sophomore Taylor Hudson was lost to a back injury and, for the first time since a run of starts to finish his junior season, it was senior Josh Clark’s turn to return to active duty and it remains Clark’s job this week against Navy.
