The 24-hour rule for college football teams is perhaps more theoretical in the wake of losses like East Carolina’s 28-point shelling from Navy last Saturday.
It’s more realistic that the memories of that game won’t be vanquished until they can be replaced by better ones, and the clock is already counting down to ECU’s next chance to do so, a noon Saturday clash with Conference USA rival Houston.
“I have high expectations for myself and for our coaching staff as well as our players, and I was disappointed we didn’t meet those on Saturday, and that was not the performance that we wanted or expected,” ECU head coach Ruffin McNeill said on Monday at his weekly press conference of the Navy loss.
