Five consecutive losses haven’t dampened East Carolina’s spirits.

The Pirates’ men’s basketball team was upbeat and optimistic during Tuesday’s practice as it prepared for tonight’s home game against Southern Miss. ECU (9-9, 0-5 Conference USA) and the Golden Eagles (17-3, 4-1) square off at 7 in Minges Coliseum.

Six-foot-8 senior forward Darrius Morrow said the team has done everything within its power to erase the memory of the five straight defeats the Pirates have suffered to open Conference USA play.
