The Pirates took a lead and never looked back against Elon, steadily building on an early 1-0 edge and dividing the pitching duties three ways in a relatively easy 7-0 victory at Clark-LeClair Stadium.
It was a decided departure for a team that's been involved in 11 one-run games already this season, and which has struggled to hold leads like the 2-1 edge that disintegrated into a 4-2 loss Tuesday night at N.C. State.
