East Carolina rode the coattails of a major first half eruption all the way to the finish line against visiting Houston inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on Saturday.
After taking a 28-0 lead late in the second quarter the Pirates battled to fend off the rallying Cougars, whose three touchdowns in the second half were offset by ECU’s two TDs and pair of Warren Harvey field goals in a 48-28 Pirate win.
It came on the heels of an embarrassing 56-28 home loss to Navy last week.
