The last time East Carolina’s men’s basketball team played Texas-El Paso in the Don Haskins Center, the Pirates allowed 100 points for the second time in a week during the 2009-10 season.

Almost two years later, ECU returns to the scene of that 100-76 shellacking on Feb. 13, 2010, to face UTEP at 9 (EST) tonight. The Pirates (9-7, 0-3 Conference USA) are still looking for their first league win of the season and if they have to cross a couple of time zones to find it, so be it, said coach Jeff Lebo.

“You’re gone for a whole week and that’s always hard,” Lebo said of this week’s road trip that started with Tuesday’s flight to El Paso and continues with a visit to Houston for Saturday’s 8 p.m. (EST) tip-off against the Cougars. “You get out of rhythm with everything, staying in hotels and flying and changing over time zones.”
