East Carolina’s season of streaks continues.

The Pirates won their third consecutive men’s basketball game Saturday, pulling away from Rice late for an 82-68 victory in Minges Coliseum. Five ECU players reached double-figure scoring and the Pirates continue to put the memory of a six-game losing skid to open Conference USA play in their rear view mirror.

“It was a great win,” East Carolina coach Jeff Lebo said. “Rice has got a good basketball team and they were coming in with a lot of confidence. ... Offensively I thought we were really solid (and we) got great balance.”
