Playing teams with national rankings in front of their names is nothing new to East Carolina baseball or sixth-year head coach Billy Godwin.
While playing ranked teams is a great measuring stick for any team, Godwin insists on sticking to the traditional idea of worrying about his own camp first.
That was certainly true this week as the 3-0 Pirates prepared for today's clash in Virginia against the 10th-ranked Cavaliers, the first of three. Last year at this time, ECU hosted the Cavs when the visitors came to town with the No. 2 next to their name, and ECU swiped one game and kept the other two close.
