Cross country state meet slated for today

Several local high school runners will compete in the state championship cross country meet today in Winston-Salem.
In the 3-A meet, the D.H. Conley boys' team qualified after a fourth-place finish at the Eastern Regional a week ago.
In the 3-A girls' meet, South Central's Alexis Jones qualified for the state meet after finishing sixth at the regional.
J.H. Rose's Esther Fisher will compete in the 4-A meet after placing 12th in the regional last week.

The D.H. Conley boys' soccer team travels to South Johnston today for a second-round game in the 3-A state playoffs.
