Eight Pitt County high school seniors signed to play college football on Wednesday.

Joe Wright verbally committed to N.C. State last summer and he said Wednesday that he never wavered from that commitment during his senior season.

The versatile 6-foot-6, 230-pounder played on the offensive and defensive lines at J.H. Rose, but was recruited by the Wolfpack as a defensive end. He is rated by ESPN as a three-star recruit.
