BETHEL — The North Pitt boys’ basketball team’s 17-0 run to begin the second half Friday night featured only one 3-pointer, but what it did include was plenty of steals that led to easy transition baskets.
The game-changing surge led to the Panthers pulling away from rival Farmville Central for a 66-48 victory.
NP, which had a three-point lead at halftime, held a 47-29 advantage going into the final quarter thanks to a relentless man-to-man effort on the defensive end during the third period. The Panthers (16-5, 8-2 Eastern Plains Conference), who knocked off top-ranked Kinston last week, outscored FC 17-2 in the third quarter.
