Chargers get win in slugfest

BETHEL — The Ayden-Grifton baseball team got more than enough offense and just enough pitching for a victory over North Pitt on Wednesday.

The Chargers used two home runs and an eight-run second inning to build an early lead, but it was freshman pitcher Mike Stancil that preserved the 16-12 victory.

    The Panthers pounded six ECU pitchers for 19 hits and held off a ninth-inning rally en route to their 13-12 victory.
