Rampants' Siddiqi takes it all to the mat

The Daily Reflector

Thursday, December 04, 2008

When J.H. Rose 152-pounder Haroon Siddiqi walks into a room, he doesn’t look all that intense. Then he walks onto a wrestling mat, and turns into a different person. His opponents know that person well.

AN OUTLET

“I like wrestling because it gives me an outlet. People mess with me, and I take it to the mat. I always try to leave everything on the mat. That’s the best thing about this sport because you can always get out your frustrations.”

DO WORK

“Practices are pretty intense. You have to work hard in practice, and I think (coach Scott Honecker) pushes us so hard so that when we get to the match, that’s the easy part.”

GOOD COMBO

“I like weightlifting and math. They’re my favorite. I guess I use the math to add up the weight I lifted that day.”

Congrats! to Rose Wrestling! It's a great sport with a talented team! Once you go to a match, you're hooked. Rose coaches really know the game and & how to encourage the players! Congrats also to Haroon~
