As Chuck Humphrey described it, tonight’s banquet at J.H. Rose High School is all about fans of baseball coming together.

About 300 people are expected to attend the Pitt-Greenville Hot Stove Baseball League’s 24th annual banquet to be held at Rose.

Sam Narron, a former East Carolina pitcher who spent almost 10 years in the minor leagues and made one major league start, will be the guest speaker. Narron stopped playing in 2011 and is the pitching coach for the Auburn Doubledays, a Single-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.
