Five mid-July days in Winterville this year might spell a sizable economic impact for Pitt County, but they most certainly will produce some top-level softball.
Beginning July 17, 50 to 60 softball teams from throughout the southeast will converge on the Sara A. Law Memorial Softball Complex for the five-day Babe Ruth Southeast Regional.
“We’re thrilled,” said Bo Batts, executive director of the Pitt County Girls Softball League. “We are lucky we have such a great reputation, and we’re blessed to be able to host the regional.”
