Elaine Marshall won North Carolina's Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate on Tuesday, capturing a second Pitt County victory in the process.
Marshall, North Carolina's secretary of state, received 1,397 in Pitt County to 1,050 votes for former state senator Cal Cunningham.
Statewide, with more than 90 percent of precincts reporting, Marshall had 60 percent of the vote.
