James Dodson, a New York Times best-selling golf author and ECU alumnus, will be having a book signing at Coffman’s Mens Wear on Thursday from 2-7 p.m. during the Bills Khakis Trunk Show.
Dodson is a columnist for The Pilot newspaper and editor of the award-winning PineStraw Magazine in Southern Pines. His regular Sunday column recently was awarded top prize by the N.C. Press Association. During his 25-year writing career, he has won more than a dozen awards from the Golf Writers of America and other industry organizations.
His latest work, “American Triumvirate: Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan and the Modern Age of Golf,” earned him the United States Golf Association’s Herbert Warren Wind Book Award for 2012. Dodson also won the award in 2004 for “Ben Hogan: An American Life.” He is just the second writer in the organization’s history to be recognized twice.
