Kim Allen has joined the staff at Roseleaf Academy and will teach history-literature classes as well as cursive writing and Latin.
Allen has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in classical studies from DePauw University. She also has a master’s degree in special education with a concentration in learning disabilities from UNC-Chapel Hill. In addition, she completed an internship with the Hill Center in Durham and is working toward a teaching-level certification in multisensory language education and a Reading Strategies certificate.
“We are very excited to have a teacher of Kim’s caliber and experience join us to help provide a rigorous history-literature program and expand our humanities course offerings,” Lori Drake, headmistress of Roseleaf Academy, said. “As a small school, our goal has always been to increase the educational experiences available for middle school girls, and we are thrilled that Kim’s experience and expertise will allow us to expand our course offerings for accelerated students.”
