Three physicians have joined the Department of Family Medicine at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and its group medical practice, ECU Physicians.
Dr. Ashley Allen joined the department as a clinical assistant professor. She comes to ECU from American Indian Health Services of Chicago, where she was medical director. Allen has a medical degree from ECU and completed residency training in family medicine at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Illinois.
Allen is board-certified in family medicine. Her research and clinical interests are obesity prevention and treatment, metabolic syndrome education and risk reduction, diabetes prevention, women’s health, travel medicine and pediatrics.
