The Great 100 Nurses, which promotes nursing excellence in North Carolina, has recognized nine Vidant Health nurses in its list for 2012.
This nonprofit organization creates peer recognition among North Carolina’s registered nurses, as well as awards excellence in practice and commitment to the nursing profession. An event honoring the Great 100 was held on Oct. 13 in Greensboro.
“These nurses represent the finest in the country,” said Dr. David C. Herman, chief executive officer of Vidant Health. “Nursing has always been a noble profession, and that holds true today. While technology modernizes the way in which we do our jobs, one thing will never change: the healing touch of those by the side of the patient matters most. The care, comfort and compassion they provide cannot be replicated or replaced.”
