Harriet Tillery recently retired from Mail Services after more than 21 years with East Carolina University. She was a mail clerk on the main campus.

“We will miss her presence in Mail Services, for she was a woman of many great skills and even greater character attributes,” Thomas Hardy, Mail Services manager, said. “She ran the metering machine, she ran the mail routes, and she ran back and forth from bin to bin sorting mail. She was a master sorter and knew nearly all the routes.”

Tillery began her career at ECU in 1992 in the Housekeeping Department, then worked her way up to supervisor of her work unit. She joined Mail Services in 1997 as a route driver. Her duties included delivering mail to academic departments, sorting mail and working the customer service window.
