The Southern Bank office located at 7458 Main St. in downtown Bethel will host a Shred-a-Thon on May 19 from 10 a.m. until noon.
The Shred-a-Thon is open to the public. Participants will be allowed to shred up to 30 pounds of their sensitive documents for free. Sensitive items may include bank statements, outdated check stubs, receipts and tax documents.
The Shred-a-Thon is being co-sponsored by the North Carolina Attorney General’s office and Cintas Document Shredding.
