Greenville native joins law firm

Hornthal, Riley, Ellis and Maland attorneys at law announced that Johny Hallow has joined the firm.

Hallow is a 2021 graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law, where he served as a notes and comments editor for the Wake Forest Journal of Business and Intellectual Property Law.

In 2018, Hallow graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi, where he earned a bachelor of arts in pubic policy leadership from the Trent Lott Leadership Institute.

Hallow previously interned for the Honorable Robert T. Numbers II, magistrate, United States District Court of North Carolina. Hallow will primarily practice out of the firm’s Elizabeth City Office. His practice will focus on civil litigation, personal injury, employment and local government.

Hallow said he is excited to return to eastern North Carolina.

UScellular names Franks store manager

UScellular has named Tony Franks store manager at the company’s retail location at 1067 Walmart Drive in Williamston. In this role, he is responsible for leading his team of wireless technology experts to help customers select the devices and plans to best meet their wireless needs.

Franks brings more than 12 years of experience to his new role.

“At U.S. Cellular we work hard to ensure our associates are equipped with the knowledge needed to help customers make informed decisions about their wireless service,” said Jeremy Taylor, director of sales for UScellular in eastern North Carolina. “I am excited for Tony to lead our Williamston store and I’m confident that his leadership skills will guide our team to help customers in the area with their technology needs.”

Franks most recently held the position of retail sales manager at the company’s Greenville location. He holds a bachelor of science in engineering from East Carolina University. Franks lives in Greenville.

Keller Williams Realty hires new agents

Keller Williams Realty Points East has hired several new agents.

Scott Chambers is a native of Bedford, Mass. He has lived in the area for five years. He is married and has two children.

Chambers has a bachelor’s degree in management information systems. He has been in real estate for seven years.

Alison Rhodes is a native of York, Pa. She has lived in the area for 45 years.

She is single. In her spare time she enjoys reading, cooking, community events and meditation.


Rhodes has bachelor’s degrees in business and computer information systems. She has been in real estate for two years.

Chester Wayne Andrews was born in Kingston, New York, but raised in Topfield, Mass. He has lived in the area for one year.

Andrews is married and has two children and two grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys chess, tennis, hiking the Appalachian Trail, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science. He has been in real estate for 25 years.

Chris Tipton is a native of Sanford. He has lived in the area for three months.

Tipton is married with three children. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and working out.

He has a bachelor’s degree in pre-law and a basic law enforcement certificate.

Tipton has been in real estate less than one year.

Tonya Williams-Harper was born in East Harbor, New Jersey, and raised in Pinetops. She has lived in the area for 40 years.

She is married with five children and nine grandchildren.

When not working, she enjoys sports, reading and spending time with her family.

Williams-Harper has a master’s degree in business administration/management. She is new to real estate.

James Godfrey Jones was born and raised in Winterville. He left the area at age 19 and returned at age 64.

He is married and has two sons. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening and woodworking.

He is a life and health insurance agent as well as a real estate broker.

Jones has been in real estate since 2005.
