The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two firearm thefts reported on Tuesday.

Incident reports from the office show that a Taurus handgun valued at $500 was stolen from a home on the 1300 block of Rams Horn Road in Greenville on Tuesday morning.

A report was made to the office at 11:25 a.m. and the handgun is believed to have been in the owner’s possession shortly before that time.

A separate handgun theft was reported later that day, from a vehicle on the 6000 block of U.S. 13 in Farmville. That weapon was a Glock 9, also valued at $500. The incident took place at 2:35 p.m.

Both cases are listed as active.
