A Greenville man was shot and killed during a robbery at his home on Sunday, and police are looking for at least one person in connection to the death.

The Greenville Police Department reported Kareem Jenkins, 38, was killed about 10:30 p.m. at his home at 111 Paris Ave., Unit A. Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the residence and found Jenkins dead from an apparent gunshot wound

Jenkins was at the home with several friends, according to the department. No one else was injured.

The investigation was still in the preliminary stages on Monday, but detectives believe Jenkins was targeted and robbery was likely the motive behind the shooting.

Cash was stolen during the incident, and police are looking for at least one person, possibly more, department spokeswoman Kristen Hunter said.

A news release said detectives are following up on strong leads.
