Police Chief Mark Holtzman’s proposed civilian traffic investigative unit was approved by the city council on Monday.

Greenville Police Chief Mark Holtzman today announced his resignation from the Greenville Police Department after nearly seven years in the position.

Holtzman’s last day on the job will be July 29, according to a news release issued by the city on Friday morning. Deputy Chief of Police Ted Sauls will assume the role of interim police chief upon his departure.
