Craig A. Springer has been named regional revenue director for Adams Publishing Group-ENC, President and Publisher Robin L. Quillon announced.

Springer will work with advertising teams at all the company’s newspapers and digital operations to deliver the greatest reach and best results for area business and commercial clients. He started on Monday.

“Craig brings a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and dedication to this position. He is the kind of executive who leads by example,” Quillon said.

Springer will be based in Greenville and will work closely with associates at The Daily Reflector, The Rocky Mount Telegram, The Elizabeth City Daily Advance and non-daily newspapers in Hertford, Edenton, Windsor, Williamston, Ayden, Grifton, Farmville, Snow Hill and Kenansville.

He has been in the newspaper business for 44 years and most recently served as General Manager and Revenue Director with the Times-News in Cumberland, Md.

Originally from the Johnstown, Penn., area, he served with the Tribune-Democrat newspaper for 33 years working in all capacities from inside sales, to outside, to sales team leader to ad director.

He also served as general manager of a weekly paper printed in Johnstown, only to come back to the Tribune for another term before accepting the position in Cumberland.

Springer and his wife, Tina, have two daughters and four grandchildren. He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family at the beach, he said.

He began his career as a carrier for the Tribune-Democrat.

“I guess it could be said the ink has never left my fingers,” he said.

Coming to Greenville has given Springer an excellent opportunity to meet new business leaders as well as help the exceptional team already in place reach new levels, he said.
