Two people died in an early morning car crash on Monday, the State Highway Patrol reported.

The crash, which involved three vehicles, took place at 5:47 a.m. on N.C. 33 East near Grimesland.

The highway patrol said that a 2009 Toyota passenger car driven by Jordan Williams of Winterville was traveling east on N.C. 33 when it crossed the centerline, colliding with a 2012 Chevrolet SUV traveling west, driven by Carol Ann Glisson.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene and Glisson was pronounced dead at Vidant Medical Center.

A third vehicle collided with Glisson’s vehicle, but the driver, Michael Clark of Chocowinity, was not injured.

There were no passengers in any of the three vehicles involved in the wreck, the Highway Patrol reported.
