Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
Matthew B. Paramore, 38, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at his home. Memorial services were held on Tuesday, March 21st at 6:00pm at the Immanuel Church of Winterville, 317 Vernon White Road, Winterville. The family received friends one hour prior to the service. “Matt”, as he was known by many, a native of Pitt County was a son of Stewart Paramore, Sr and Diane Miles. Matt was a devoted father to Preston and a loving son, brother and uncle. He was a proud graduate of the East Carolina School of Nursing, obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. He worked in the Trauma Surgery ICU and Interventional Radiology at Vidant Medical Center. He leaves behind many beloved lifelong friends from his time in the medical field and growing up in Pitt County. Matt was preceded in death by grandparents, Charlie Ray Powell, Mattie Elizabeth Hardy, Cecil Paramore and Marie Everett. Survivors include his son, Preston; mother, Diane Miles; father, Stewart Paramore; brothers, Spencer Paramore and Mason Paramore along with many cousins, aunts, uncles, a niece and nephews. Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville is handling the arrangements.
