Here are some chips and putts from area golf courses:

Brook Valley

Brook Valley held its Kids Fun Camp last week, an event that included golf, field games and swimming. The club welcomed a sold-out group of youngsters who honed their golf skills and had such games as sack races and water balloon toss, along with quality time in the pool.

Weeks Worley and Nic Brown served as camp leaders.

Men's Night was canceled because of inclement weather.

Ironwood

Ironwood has set new summer rates. Monday through Thursday, golf fees are $45, and Friday through Sunday they are $55.

Twilight rates are also available after 2 p.m. Call the golf shop at 252-752-4653 for a full breakdown of rates and tee times.

Connor Durham and Alex Gouras captured first gross at Men's Night on Wednesday. They shot 31.

Branin Thorn and Dave Eberenz took low net honors with a 30. Dave Hunt and Tracy Minto were second with a 33.

Georgia White came away with the low net score at the Ironwood Ladies Play Day Thursday. Maria Perry finished second and Cheryl Newbold was third.

In the net division, Maryanne Kram took first, followed by Jan Thornton in second and Leslie Bailey in third.

Thornton had low putts with 16. Bailey tied for second with Perry and White at 17.

Roanoke

Roanoke Country Club will host a Superball Tournament on Thursday, the July 4 holiday. Teams will have a shotgun start at 12.30 p.m.

The entry fee is $25, which includes a hog dog and hamburger dinner for players following play.

Roanoke will also host its Member-Guest on Aug. 17.

Robersonville

Robersonville Country Club will also be hosting a July 4 Superball tournament. The field will tee off at 1 p.m. and a hot dog luncheon for players will begin at noon.

The entry fee will be $22 for members and $30 for non-members.

Robersonville will also hold a “Glo-Ball” tournament on July 20. Players will play nine holes during the daytime, then play an additional nine holes after dark.

The entry fee is $30 for all golfers.
