The Washington Elite All Stars from Tumble B Gym, a local cheerleading and tumbling training facility, recently traveled to Atlanta for one of the largest and most prestigious cheerleading competitions in the country, the CHEERSPORT Nationals.

This year, CHEERSPORT Nationals attracted more than 800 teams from across the country to compete. Washington Elite Junior Reign and Senior Royalty competed in the two-day event, performing zero deduction routines both days.

At the end of the competition, Washington Elite Junior Reign placed third in the medium junior division and Washington Elite Senior Royalty placed second in the medium senior coed division. The second-place finish and overall score for Senior Royalty awarded the team a bid to compete at the season-ending event, the D2 Summit, taking place in Orlando, Fla.

“For obvious reasons, this year has been the most difficult in preparing our athletes to take on a challenge such as this,” owner Misty Brown said. “To say we are beyond proud of what they have had to overcome amid a pandemic and their commitment to this sport would be an understatement. This was the first year our teams have attended CHEERSPORT Nationals. With their amazing performances, there is no doubt we can compete with top programs across the nation and we will be returning to CHEERSPORT Nationals in the coming years.”
